KL Night

Again, I wanted to stress here, you can eat a lot of good stuff in KL!

The bak kut teh (meat bones soup, pork), not of any famous stall,
but still better than all that I've eaten in singapore.

The stall is at Taman Maluri (Kepong), just beside the Tuck Kee Restaurant.

Night Life @ KL is as such, you can go out till late night.

Its the Chili Restaurant, just came to know that they offer free flow of drinks (selected) as well as free flow of nachos with salsa sauce per person basis.
Look, that's my wife and Johnson's girl friend, Jessie.

Show time, 1am midnight @ 1 Utama, it's pool time.

Nice posture?

Aim well and shot!

Back in KL...

It had been long since I'm back home, and we did it last week after many things got settled down here in singapore. My sister's baby is going 1 month and we missed her party the week before. As usual we went to JB to take a direct bus back to KL.

I remember the day, we are really going very late, my wife worked until about 830pm.

Anyway, after the hassle to go thru custom and 4 hours in bus, we are back in KL @ 4am in the morning.

The very common roti canai! well, there's tricks if you want to order a fresh made one. If you order roti kosong (plain) or roti telur (egg), you are likely to get one that made maybe 15mins ago which kept in a keep warm container. The tricks is.. order ROTI BAWANG! (Onion) or some other not so common one.

Teh Tarik! You can't miss it if you are in KL and meeting friends at night especially.

The next morning, we go for my wife's favorite food -- Hong Kong Dim Sum.

Enjoying Hong Kong Dim Sum breakfast with my relatives.

This is one of the high-light among all the dishes, the crispy duck. The duck was toasted very crispy for its skin and it was then peeled slice by slice. And wrap with the very thin yellowish wrap with some chunky cucumber and the authentic sauce. Well, it is suppose to be very nice I heard, but I found it to be rather a bit tasteless.

Not my hand of course, I'm holding the handphone camera!

Back in SG...

Our trial run ended gracefully last Thursday.

The weekends had been very busy, we have Friday morning Easter Service, Saturday afternoon "Glory of the Easter" performance and Sunday again, other than Easter Service, we have the last rehearsal/practice for "Glory of the Easter".

After all, it is still a GREAT idea to stay in JB, as the only thing is that about 2 hours of time wasted on transportation from JB to SG.

The Fourth Day!!

Cut it short, we arrive at Tanjong Pagar MRT @ 8:30am, that's the earliest!
The journey is about the same, but I think it is the Custom Clearance and the 170 bus travel time which makes the difference, the MRT speed could be a factor too.

This is yesterday night, about 8:45pm, the traffic is pretty heavy in JB.

Oh.. that's my wife! Weird look..

So now you see what we eat, 2 large pizza for RM32.55
that's about... S$15 which you can only buy
one large pizza in SG during promotion.

Early morning in JB custom, I think about the same for the past few days.

Look! the future JB custom, should I be proud of it? let's wait and see...

Aiks.. forgot to take a snapshot of our breakfast today --> Soya bean and Fried You Tiao @ Tanjong Pagar Market.

The Third Day!

That's the journey for the morning:

The JB Custom @ 7:03am

6:40am Depart from JB House
7:03am Reach JB Custom catch 170 and go! we get stuck in the bridge for a while and we know that we are late, the sun had rise up above the mountain. We reached SG custom and we are lucky on that the queue is clearing pretty fast.
7:57am Grabbed MyPaper after getting off 170, catch the direct train from Kranji to the EW line.
8:45am Reach Office! and my wife still on her way to Eunos.

So, what happened yesterday night?

We knock off around 7pm and reach Jurong East at 7:15pm, estimating to reach JB by 8pm but then.. it was delay, we stuck in the jam on the bridge and about 25mins late then.

So here goes the better part

The Hokkien Noodle and Watdan Ho @ 2nd miles of Tampoi
Guess what... only RM4 per plate, big serving and delicious!

The JB "pasar malam" (night market)
@ Taman Anggerik every Tuesday night.

That's my father in-law, picking potatoes.
The stalls are packing up and closing by 10pm
and we are there around 9:20pm.

Supper in less than an hour time after dinner...
My wife favorite Cha Kuei and the steam peanuts that I like the most.
(but too bad, both not up to our standard, the peanut is too dry)

Oh man... I get hungry now after looking at the photos of the meals and supper...

The Second Day...

This is my second day journey, we've got a little bit earlier today.

6:35am Depart from House and drive toward custom.
6:57am Reach CitySquare, walk to JB Custom and catch 170.
7:15am Reach Singapore Custom and queue up.
7:30am Cleared from Singapore Custom and catch 170.
7:45am Reach Kranji MRT.
7:57am Catch the Direct Train to Tanjong Pagar.
8:40am Reach Tanjong Pagar MRT.
8:45am Reach Seacon Office!

Well, according to Jack@Office, these 2 days traffic had been very smooth... what should I expect for the worst?

Put aside the hassle of traveling, let's talk about food! see what we have for our dinner yesterday!

Yum Yum!! Eating our late dinner @ Taman Anggerik, 9pm.

See what's that?? That's my favorite prawn noodle and
my wife couldn't hold it to order the chicken satay!
(well... the prawn noodle uncle probably
running out of the soup and it was diluted..)

New Journey...

Today, my wife and I had started a new journey to work... Not to mistaken, we've just started a trial run for a GREAT IDEA... that's the challenge to stay in Johor and work in Singapore.

Well, today is a good start, we woke up early 5:30am in the morning, with tired eyes and spinning mind (thanks to that faithful neighborhood dog which barks throughout the night.)

And here goes the journey:
5:30am Woke up and brush up, break fast.
6:30am Depart from house, drive my father in-law's car.
7:00am Reached CitySquare, just a minute walk to Malaysia Custom.
7:15am Get stuck in the custom lane for more than 30mins! then board a 170 bus, which is super packed and we are at the front door squeezing..
8:10am Reached Kranji MRT, just nice time to went to the wash room and catch the 8:19am direct MRT to the east west line.
8:55am Reached Tanjong Pagar MRT, walk to office.
9:05am Reached Office and see Jacky already there....

This exercise is to prepare us for a greater journey... 3 months of life staying in JB and travel back and forth to SG after our existing rental expired and before we got our new house!

If you have tips on how I can "optimize" my travel path, I would appreciate that!

choongseng
