New gadgets....

Got a couple of new gadgets recently, first was a PocketPC HP h4150, second hand though, since I didn't try to own and use a PPC before, this set does provide me with a good entry to it. I love this unit, as it has built in wifi as well as bluetooth, best for me to try out and develop some apps for it.

The second one, which might not be consider as gadgets, is a T43 laptop, with 1GB RAM, a very high end IBM laptop from my company. It comes with a thumbprint reader, it works great! performance is high, fast in everything, except when loads up, probably due to those IBM softwares s well as... all other services (I've installed smartermail, sql express, sql dev, and...). I got one weird problem though, which is that, when it is operating on battery w/o mouse (use touchpad) it does hang occasionally, which I still have not find out any clue to the problem yet.

Courts Unlikely To Stop Google Book Copying
Despite objections from publishers and writers, copyright law appears to be on Google's side, legal experts say. The social value of Google's initiative to digitize library books, including those protected by copyright, will likely weigh heavily in the search engine's favor.
Should the growing number of publishing groups, who oppose the plan by Google Inc. to digitize the collections of some of the world’s major libraries, fail to reach an agreement and turn instead to the courts, they may have a tough road ahead of them.

Planet Mars as big as moon during August.

I've got this in email, not sure how true it is, worth to give it a try though, hopefully during that time the Haze in KL will be gone as I'll probably be there during that time.

Don't forget to watch this effect...... one in a lifetime!!!

"Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultimate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65 M.Miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 2005, at 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Share this with ur friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again"

Living Under the Cloud - Hiroshima

Flip over the TIME magazine this week, that's the title on the first writting on the bomb that had ended the World War II.

The war finally came to and end when 12 americans on 6th Aug. 1945, boarded the B-29 bomber "Enola Gay" dropped the first and perhaps the last atomic bomb ever drop for such purpose at 8:15am. The bomb which of weight 4 metric tons not only devasted the entire city, its radiation had also brought further harms thru years.

That was about 60 years ago, and since then, as Gerge Orwell wrote two months after the bombing, we've lived in "peace that had no peace", and we lived.

I've some deep though on that sentence, perhaps we may ask, what is REAL PEACE?

A simple dinner with love...

Yum yum... it was hungry!!

I went almost on the dot, but then it was 6:15pm as I've promised my girlfriend to knock off and go home earlier.

Today, we have 2 dishes, one vege plus one egg... and... very little salt. Not that we've no money to buy salt, but rather, after the suspicious incident that her father is having some problem with kidney, salt had became the unlikely ingredients to be in any dishes that she cook.

Well, that's love, for our health.

Thank you to my dear.

Live Webcam!!

That's cool, happen to find this webcam server, as simple as just run and a few click, and I'm online.

WebCam2000 is freely distributed open source software for Windows 95, 98, Me!, NT, 2000, and XP that serves images from any video capture device connected to a computer. WebCam2000 can serve pictures as either JPEG or bitmap (BMP) and can include complete HTTP headers or serve the image "raw". The second case is particularly useful when you want to perform further processing on the image; for example by using WebCam2000 as a back-end to a CGI script. One important thing to note is that the WebCam2000 is for people with a live internet connection only: the current version does not have the ability to dial-up an ISP and FTP upload an image.
http://www.webcam2000.info/

And gotcha! you can view me online when I'm available at http://webcam.lovelyhome.org:8080
Hmm.. it is time to plan some CCTV at home.. :-D

After a month...

wow... it has been a month after we've moved in this new unit.
well, things went well, and I'm sitting here with infront of laptop, waiting for my sweet heart to come back from night class.

Finally, I got the chance to online almost everyday, thanks to Starhub introducing FlexiSurf.

While I can't convince two of my housemates to share the cable bill, my Starhub Digital Line offers me free surfing on weekends. Thus, for weekdays, we'll use FlexiSurf which cost S$2.50 per day, with condition of minimum subscription of 3 days. Thus, effectively we are able to cut cost on the cable bill down to s$40/month.

But... the promotion for free surf ends on december. My only hope is that the broadband new players in the local market will start fighting and I'll be the fisherman who get both the clam and bird.

First night at 108

Today, I woke up at 7:20am, it was a good rest throughout the night, ofcourse, after a whole day of hardwork of moving house!

Some surprises though, after taking my morning bath, figured out that I've no comb and no hair gel in my new house!!! They are still in the old house...

So, I've used the natural comb (my fingers) and try all means to press down my spongy hair and I'm at work.

That's the first night in my new house.

Moving to new unit!

Many things happended since last saturday.

At 4:30pm, we've meet up with housing agent to view the potential 3+1 rooms house, and the initial offer was 1.2k. Well, after getting advice from housing agent, Jeff, we made a counter offer of 1.1k, and moving in by 1st of June!!! it was indeed very rush decision, but afterall, it is a just nice deal for us.

So, as the "head of the house", I've been doing all the administrative works, including signing of legal rental agreements, etc.

And just the day before, my dear mummy called me and informed that my brother and she are coming to Singapore, reaching on 8pm saturday night. That's how suddenly all things pop ups, which I'll have to delay my schedule of shifting house and also break a promise to assist my friend in shifting hers on monday night.

Well, well, things doesn't just end or stop like that, there was some decisions need to be made, such as room allocations and also sharing of bills, etc, which end up hurting when there's some objections. One of it being whether to subscribe to a broadband package, which was indeed hard to decide since some of them insist on not paying the bills since they doesn't use.

That's the end of sunday, I'm sitting infront of my laptop at 1:43am.
